Alright, so 2008 has ended and 2009 has quickly taken its place. But with the new year still fresh in our mind, it is time to take a look back at all the films that made their way to theaters during the hot and spicy year. From January's Cloverfield to this past summers Iron Man, Incredible Hulk and Dark Knight, to the recently released Doubt, Benjamin Button and Marley and Me, there was something for everyone during 2008.
We recently posted our 'End of Year Awards,' which you can see HERE And while I get to carry the title of 'critic' in terms of my favorites, there is very little that differs between me and you. Because of that, I have decided that it is time for you all to voice your opinion and give us your vote for the 'Readers Top 10 List of 2008.'
So, either post a reply to this message or shoot me an e-mail at CollegeMovieReview@gmail.com and give me what you consider to be the top ten films of the year. Make sure you number them. We will be taking lists until Tuesday night at 10 PM CST, which is when we will compile them to be posted in a Readers List.
I will be sure to post the Readers Top 10 List on here as soon as it goes live so you guys can check and see if your films make the cut. And remember, unless you vote, you can't complain about the outcome.
So let me know your feelings about 2008, and let's all hope for an even better 2009.

Over the last ninety days, a lot has happened in the world of Hollywood and movies. And while little has been reported on CollegeMovieReview, I feel it is time to play catch up. Below is a link to a long list of topics, all of which have been at the center of the movie business. Some are interesting, some funny, but all critical in the world of Hollywood. So sit back, relax, and bask in all the news and notable of the last few months.

So I have not posted any of my reviews in quite a while, but thought that I might take this moment to get caught up. Below you will find reviews for a wide range of films, including The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Slumdog Millionaire, Milk, Seven Pounds, Doubt and The Reader. Check them out below (by clicking on each of the pictures), and be sure to let me know your thoughts, as I always love for a little movie debate!
Slumdog Millionaire
Hope you enjoy!James Franco goes against stereotype in Gus Van Sant's politically driven drama Milk. Franco plays Scott Smith, the lover of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to ever be elected into public office. The role is juicy and not expected from the young star, beinging Oscar buzz and mass appeal to both the film and Franco individually.
Check out my interview with Franco HERE as he talks about the film, his turn as Smith and the recent passing of Prop 8. Be sure to let me know your thoughts.
**The views in this interview are delicate. Please do not post a reply that deals with slandering either someone's viewpoint or someone else's post. Kind discuss is as always welcome!
This week, the long away Australia hits theaters, and what better time to do so. It is the beginning of Oscar season and with the previews showing off some of the CGI visuals that the film has to offer, it should easily pull in a heavy number of viewers. But not to be outdone, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is expanding this week, continuing its stronghold on viewers as it presents the generic story of the Holocaust through the eyes of a child. The film is simply brilliant and should not be missed by anyone who has the opportunity to see it.

**I always welcome open discussion and a little debate is fun. But I do not welcome slaughtering of my opinions. They are opinions, you can take them or leave them! Now, with that said, what do you think?

This past weekend, Twilight was forced to battle Bolt at the box-office while Soul Men tried to hang on for deal life. Below I have a review for both films. Be sure to check out how the lost dog fairs in his cross-country journey and how two old-timers make it back on stage.

It took eight years and 173 episodes, but the story that surrounded the WB's 'Charmed' finally came to a close in 2006. Now, for the first time, the entire series is available in one complete box-set. However, is it really worth it?

Fred Claus hit theaters over a year ago. Now, it is finally making its way to Blu-Ray. You have to wonder, is it a marketing ploy to get the most discs sold? I would think so. And hopefully it works, because besides Vince Vaughn, this film is extremely disappointing.

Jack Back and company rock the animation and the moves to bring a fun and entertaining animated comedy to the screen.

Finally a Star Wars film that lives up to the original three...NOT!!!

While the television show was popular back in the 60s, Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway work to bring the popular story of Maxwell Smart and Agent 99 to a whole new generation. And boy do they do it in fashion.

Daniel Craig returns for his second turn as the infamous Agent 007, and boy does he do it in style. Combining action, thrills and a little bit of sex, Bond is back and better than ever. And while many will fear that it isn't the same Bond, I agree, he isn't the same. He is more human!!

Anne Hathaway goes against stereotype Rachel Getting Married, a family drama about a recovering drug addict who is attempting to reconnect with her family. The premise is simple, though the approach is unique and clever, making for a great piece of art.

Boasting the names of Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr, Tropic Thunder has enough star power to entertain and enthrall. But moreover, the film carries a strong premise, a rarity in comedy films and a huge plus for viewers.

With the return of Guillermo Del Toro and the cast of the original Hellboy, I had high expectations for this summer followup. Sadly, I was ruthlessly disappointed as the story failed to materialize. Thankfully, the Blu-Ray disc helps to propel the film's lone spectacle, its visuals.

Ever since Peter Pan was released, viewers have wondered where Tinker Bell came from. Now, after years of waiting, they finally get to find out. However, unlike other Disney films, Tinker Bell doesn't possess the charm and addictive nature that helped propel others into iconic, timeless classics. Though the film isn't that bad...at least for the female audience.

The fact that I am posting this gives way too much appreciation to this film. There is simply nothing to talk about. Please read my review below. And I would love to hear from anyone who wants to see it, has seen it or has heard about it.

Starring the newly in-demand Paul Rudd and that guy from American Pie, David Wain's Role Models is a smart and funny comedy about two men who must get their acts together so they can serve as adequate mentors.

The time has finally come for Kevin Smith's near NC-17 flick, Zack and Miri Make a Porno to finally hit theaters. And while the film is somewhat offensive, it is ultimately hilarious as it provides a non-stop laughathon that is sure to please even the most stern of spirits.

While Angelina Jolie is expected to turn in one outstanding performance after the over, she outdoes herself as Christine Collin's a single mother who becomes victim to the LAPD's game of corrupt politics in Clint Eastwood's Changeling.
